To honour the fifth anniversary of her death, I proposed to establish: The Susan Sontag Symposium - a free online journal, which will focus on her oeuvre, her influences and the writers she championed.

Deadline: 28 December 2009
Submissions will be posted up continuously, in consultation with the authors, until this date; after which, anyone so inclined will be free to vote for their favourite submission (and submit essays for the next issue).
Votes should be cast in the form of comments to the website, for reasons of transparency.
Authors of the five submissions with the highest number of votes will receive five e-books each. These will be selected from a predetermined list, to be made known to the fortunate five upon their success.
Essay themes will be left wide open for the first issue.
Any queries should preferably be posted on the website, but they can also be sent to the e-mail address provided.
